A Guest Post on Gap Insurance and Warranty Quotes

The following is a guest post from Click4GAP.

How to Find the Best Quotes for Warranty and Gap Insurance

Gap insurance: People want to find the best insurance possible, but even so, they end up losing money on their car if it is written off. This happens because new and old cars lose their depreciation very fast. Gap insurance saves you if your vehicle is destroyed or stolen and you owe more than it's worth to your lien-holder. It covers the difference between what your insurance will pay you and the amount of your loan.

Warranty: This is a written guarantee that is issued to you by the manufacturer of your car, with a promise to repair the car if necessary but within a specified time period. You can get an extended warranty if you think you need it.

This article will give you a few tips on how to get the best Gap insurance and warranty, respectively.

Gap Insurance

1.Don't buy from the dealership. It's best to do some research on how much gap insurance costs. One you know, buy the insurance from your insurer and not the dealership. The quote that you get from the dealership will give a much higher price due to factors like the loan and interest.

2. Have collision and comprehensive insurance coverage. To pay your lien-holder the remaining amount through gap insurance, the actual cash value of your vehicle should already be paid out by an insurer.

3. Know your coverage. Some companies will go past the cost gap and pay lease payments. Some will include extended warranty as well. It varies from company to company, and you need to decide what you require in order to get the best quote. Have your questions ready and study your policy. Get a Guaranteed Auto Protection quote from several companies to determine which one is best for you.

4. Rating services. Do a final check with rating services Standard & Poor's to gauge the financial stability of the company.

Warranty

Since a basic warranty is already provided to you by the manufacturer, what you can apply for is extended warranty. To get the best quote for your extended warranty, here are a few tips.

1. Warranty backed by automaker. Most dealerships offer warranties backed by companies who have unreliable records. So get the best quote by making sure that your extended warranty offered by the dealer is backed by the automaker.

2. Best price. For the best price, you will need to do your research at other dealerships so you can compare prices. Also, even if the dealer says there is no room for negotiation, there is always some room. If you have prices of other dealers, it will give you leverage to negotiate for a better price.

3. Know your coverage. An extended-warranty isn't a repair-all. Some car parts that will eventually wear out completely are not covered by the extended warranty. There are also tiers of coverage, so you need to know which tier will cover how much. If you have complete information, you will be able to negotiate better.

A Resource for Finding Insurance

You only have to turn the TV on for a few moments to see commercials for home and auto insurance. Lots of companies are competing for your insurance dollars, so how do you choose the right company (or companies) for you?

Many people will agree that the best way to choose your insurance is to compare quotes from different companies. Does this mean clicking around from website to website and setting up a spreadsheet to keep track of your results? Well, it could mean that--or you could save yourself some time and aggravation by visiting a website that offers an auto insurance comparison.

It's always nice when someone compiles a bunch of information on a website to save you the trouble of looking it all up! If you visit the quotesautoinsurance.org site, you can simply enter your zip code to find out what policies and rates are available in your area.

You can also search the site for information about specific companies. I think this is a great feature because as I mentioned initially, we're bombarded with TV ads for insurance companies--not to mention direct mail and online ads. So the next time you see an ad, why not check it out online to see what your actual rates might be? For example, you can check out the rates for the well-know esurance home insurance and get a quote that applies to your own personal situation.

Different companies have different rules about eligibility, how to apply, and more. Personally, I suggest starting at a clearinghouse-type site with info about many different companies, and then clicking through to the company of your choice to find out all the nuts and bolts of the actual process of signing up for a policy. Really, looking at a company's online (and telephone) customer service when signing up is a great way to assess a company because you want to feel that you can communicate easily with the company reps in the event that you have to file a home or auto claim.

Meet Kari Gray of Green-Surance Financial

Following the federal government shutdown over healthcare, there is a new kind of health insurance called Green-Surance Financial founded by CEO Kari Gray, who is "paying it forward" in an innovative way.

Helping people across the U.S. achieve healthcare coverage for alternative treatment in catastrophic illness with holistic health insurance is a vision Kari had when facing terminal liver cancer 23 years ago.

Left with certain death confirmed by two diagnoses, Kari chose to try an alternative treatment practitioner whose assurance was if she acted quickly and followed a holistic plan of action, costly though it would be, she had a chance.

Thousands of dollars later, and despite having health insurance, claims for the battery of herbs and treatments required by the holistic regime were denied by the health insurance carrier as "non-standard treatment."

Treatments classified as non-standard by both the insurance and medical systems, though, saved her life. Today as an insurance professional, Kari developed the first holistic health insurance coverage empowering free people with the right to never before insured choice. Coverage for alternative treatment in a catastrophic illness is what the vision--and now the reality called Green-Surance--provides.

1. What is Green-Surance Financial?

Green-Surance is a grassroots insurance company which has no stockholders that own or control the company. We are a people-first insurance company whose patent-pending holistic health insurance coverage opens the insurance vault to alternative health insurance. Providing a No-Deductible / No Co-Pay coverage created for healthy people who want alternative treatment in a health crisis, Green-Surance is health coverage for people whose choice is holistic.

2. Why won't more "mainstream" insurance providers cover holistic treatments?

Some health insurance providers offer limited coverage for chiro visits and acupuncture treatments, and some even provide coverage for massage therapy. But after decades of outcry by the public, the fact is insurance has made marginal improvement in coverage and little change in addressing terminal illness. From a business standpoint it's really, "if it isn't broke, why fix it?"

Insurance companies earn billions from standard healthcare; it's their golden goose, and they will never jeopardize that for public approval.

3. What are some examples of the kinds of treatments that your company covers that other companies won't?

There are many. International treatment, holistic, hydrotherapy, muscle testing, herbs, herbal regimes, juicers, holistic equipment, homeopathy, emotional clearing, detoxification protocols, holistic clinics, and more.

Log on to http://www.green-surance.com/alternative-treatment-options/ for a list of options.

4. How does Green-Surance approach the issue of pre-existing conditions?

Green-Surance coverage is for healthy people who have pre-existing conditions. Like any insurance, Green-Surance is coverage before terminal disease strikes.

Green-Surance is coverage for people who use alternative treatment and preventative healthcare. For more information on coverage qualification, people are invited to review the coverage and for those who qualify to pre-enroll: http://www.green-surance.com/what-is-green-surance/how-do-i-qualify/.

5. As a cancer survivor yourself, what's your best advice to someone facing a troubling diagnosis?

Never lose hope, and keep a positive mental outlook because it's critical to recovery. Accept that to recover you will need to make significant changes in diet and lifestyle, and never be afraid to look outside of western medicine. Never let fear make your decisions or intimidation have the final say. Remember, doctors are not God. Nature is God's creation as are we. Find a recommended holistic practitioner and then do yourself the most good by being dedicated 100% to following the regime.

Thanks, Kari!

Meet Stephen Ebbett of Protect Your Bubble

Stephen Ebbett is President of Protect Your Bubble, a new kind of insurance brand that understands that 21st century lives are busy and complicated and offers an online service that makes insurance simple and uncomplicated. Stephen also leads Protect Your Bubble UK, which combined with US operations, has sold more than one million policies.

Protect Your Bubble offers coverage for mobile gadgets such as smartphones (Android or iPhone), tablets, and cell phones. The company also offers extended warranties for small and large electronics, including televisions, cameras and laptops. Protect Your Bubble also offers affordable pet insurance, an important option for consumers who want to be prepared financially when their pets need veterinary care. Travel insurance and rental car coverage from Protect Your Bubble can help vacationers or those on business trips deal with the unexpected--including damage to a rental car--at rates much lower than are typically offered by rental car or travel agencies. The company also provides identity theft protection services, as well as renters insurance.

Stephen's past experience includes a role as the Head of Channel and Product Development at Assurant Solutions, which is Protect Your Bubble's parent company, as well as a position as Insurance Product Manager at John Lewis Partnership. Prior to that, he served as Channel Marketing Manager of AXA Insurance.

Stephen has more than 10 years of experience spearheading innovative product and communication initiatives for corporations looking to gain a competitive edge when entering a new market. Stephen attended Durham University and holds an undergraduate degree in philosophy and theology, as well as a postgraduate degree in marketing. Outside of his work with Protect Your Bubble, Stephen enjoys rugby, climbing, film, and photography.

1. How did you select the three main areas of coverage (gadgets, pets, and travel) for Protect Your Bubble?

At Protect Your Bubble, our mission is to offer a new kind of insurance to cover the items in customers' homes, the pets that enrich their lives, the technology they use on a daily basis, and much more. It's the things consumers don't always think to insure, but are very important to them.

2. Your starting rates are very affordable--how do you keep costs down for consumers, and what level of protection are consumers getting for relatively small premiums?

When creating the products, the #1 focus was to create great coverage but at an affordable price. In addition, we offer flexible deductibles to ensure that consumers' monthly payments work within their budget. We realize that consumers want comprehensive coverage at a great rate, so we work hard to develop our products around this philosophy.

3. What's the benefit in insuring an item like an appliance or smartphone rather than using a manufacturer or store warranty?

It happens all the time; we drop our phone and crack the screen, we jump in the pool forgetting that our iPhone is in our pocket, and sadly our phone becomes misplaced or even stolen. Unfortunately, the later is becoming more common. In fact, 113 smartphones are lost or stolen every minute in the U.S. Replacing an uninsured smartphone leaves many consumers in sticker shock. Carriers heavily subsidize the price of the latest smartphones, so customers who replace the mobile device outside of the subsidy will end up paying up to three times the original purchase price. This is why many consumers invest in insurance, to avoid forking over the big chunk of cash to replace it.

It's important that consumers make sure they fully understand their coverage options. I urge consumers to consider comprehensive coverage for their mobile device through insurance, rather than a warranty. For instance, some extended warranties cover accidental damage under limited circumstances but leave consumers unprotected in the event of a loss or theft.

When it comes to extended warranties for home gadgets and appliances, consumers should do their research and learn about the additional level of coverage they can get with a third party, like Protect Your Bubble. For example, we provide things like tech support for computers, food replacement for fridges/freezers, and surge protection. Plus, battery replacement and accidental damage coverage are also available during the manufacturer's warranty. Protect Your Bubble pays for all shipping charges to and from its repair facilities. These are all things that can make a big difference when in a bind.

4. What strategies do you recommend for someone who wants to assess his/her (and his/her family's) insurance needs?

Many big-ticket items we buy and plans we make (such as a business trip or vacation) are insurable. The problem is that many people assume they already have coverage or expect that they'll receive replacement items quickly when that's not necessarily the case. That's why I recommend taking stock of your stuff and evaluating available coverage options. Here are some tips when deciding whether or not you should insure your stuff:

Evaluate deductibles and coverage you already have: Know what your homeowner's insurance covers. For example, many homeowners have deductibles that exceed the value of the appliance, so in effect, the appliance or gadget is unprotected. Perhaps you rent your home and think your landlord will take care of damage to the contents you own in case of a mishap that isn't your fault. Chances are, your stuff isn't covered.

Know the true value of your smartphone: The replacement cost of your smartphone is up to three times the price you paid with the carrier's subsidy. If your smartphone or tablet is lost, stolen or damaged and you don't have insurance on it, you may be required to pay upwards of $600+.

Self-insurance can be costly: Some people assume it's better to just pay out-of-pocket to replace lost, stolen, or damaged items rather than insure them. But that depends on many factors. What you need to consider is: Will you have enough cash on hand to replace items you use every day if you need to?

Know your options: Thanks to the internet, there are more insurance options now than ever before, which makes it simple to compare rates and find the right policy. For example, you don't have to take whatever the car rental company is offering. Shop around and then make a decision--you can usually save a lot of money.

5. As an entrepreneur, how is blogging important in connecting with your (new and existing) customers, and what are some of the topics you cover in your posts?

Blogging is important for me because I want to stay connected with customers. It's a great way for me to share tips and become a resource for readers. I encounter a lot of claims data and hear from customers all the time, so it's important for me to share what I learn. Not to mention, I enjoy blogging. Typically, I try to write articles that help consumers plan ahead, avoid gadget hiccups, and not become a victim of theft, plus travel-related topics. I write about what I think can impact consumers' lives and how to protect the little things in life that matter a great deal.

Thanks, Stephen!
