Meet Kari Gray of Green-Surance Financial

Following the federal government shutdown over healthcare, there is a new kind of health insurance called Green-Surance Financial founded by CEO Kari Gray, who is "paying it forward" in an innovative way.

Helping people across the U.S. achieve healthcare coverage for alternative treatment in catastrophic illness with holistic health insurance is a vision Kari had when facing terminal liver cancer 23 years ago.

Left with certain death confirmed by two diagnoses, Kari chose to try an alternative treatment practitioner whose assurance was if she acted quickly and followed a holistic plan of action, costly though it would be, she had a chance.

Thousands of dollars later, and despite having health insurance, claims for the battery of herbs and treatments required by the holistic regime were denied by the health insurance carrier as "non-standard treatment."

Treatments classified as non-standard by both the insurance and medical systems, though, saved her life. Today as an insurance professional, Kari developed the first holistic health insurance coverage empowering free people with the right to never before insured choice. Coverage for alternative treatment in a catastrophic illness is what the vision--and now the reality called Green-Surance--provides.

1. What is Green-Surance Financial?

Green-Surance is a grassroots insurance company which has no stockholders that own or control the company. We are a people-first insurance company whose patent-pending holistic health insurance coverage opens the insurance vault to alternative health insurance. Providing a No-Deductible / No Co-Pay coverage created for healthy people who want alternative treatment in a health crisis, Green-Surance is health coverage for people whose choice is holistic.

2. Why won't more "mainstream" insurance providers cover holistic treatments?

Some health insurance providers offer limited coverage for chiro visits and acupuncture treatments, and some even provide coverage for massage therapy. But after decades of outcry by the public, the fact is insurance has made marginal improvement in coverage and little change in addressing terminal illness. From a business standpoint it's really, "if it isn't broke, why fix it?"

Insurance companies earn billions from standard healthcare; it's their golden goose, and they will never jeopardize that for public approval.

3. What are some examples of the kinds of treatments that your company covers that other companies won't?

There are many. International treatment, holistic, hydrotherapy, muscle testing, herbs, herbal regimes, juicers, holistic equipment, homeopathy, emotional clearing, detoxification protocols, holistic clinics, and more.

4. How does Green-Surance approach the issue of pre-existing conditions?

Green-Surance coverage is for healthy people who have pre-existing conditions. Like any insurance, Green-Surance is coverage before terminal disease strikes.

Green-Surance is coverage for people who use alternative treatment and preventative healthcare. For more information on coverage qualification, people are invited to review the coverage and for those who qualify to pre-enroll: http://www.green-surance.com/what-is-green-surance/how-do-i-qualify/.

5. As a cancer survivor yourself, what's your best advice to someone facing a troubling diagnosis?

Never lose hope, and keep a positive mental outlook because it's critical to recovery. Accept that to recover you will need to make significant changes in diet and lifestyle, and never be afraid to look outside of western medicine. Never let fear make your decisions or intimidation have the final say. Remember, doctors are not God. Nature is God's creation as are we. Find a recommended holistic practitioner and then do yourself the most good by being dedicated 100% to following the regime.

Thanks, Kari!

  1. Why are the premiums so expensive if the coverage is for healthy people who won't use the insurance much anyway and it's basically for catastrophic illnesses. Alternative treatments should be less than conventional treatments on most issues as well. So why are the premiums so expensive?

  2. Do most alternative providers accept this form of insurance?

    1. I don't know. I would suggest contacting Kari (or better yet, your providers of choice!) to find out.
