Crowdfunding: Help Jennifer Get a Wheelchair Van

If you've been reading this blog for a little while, you know I'm a big fan of crowdfunding campaigns. Here's a great one: help buy a wheelchair van for a young woman with Cerebral Palsy.

The van would help Jennifer and her family a lot because it would allow Jennifer to get in and out of the vehicle on her own, without needing help with transferring into a car. With a side-entry van, her chair can roll directly inside, which means her mom will no longer have any heavy lifting with getting Jennifer's wheelchair into the car. Jennifer's mom has a chronic health condition herself, and anything that helps her maintain her own health is a plus for Jennifer, too!

If you've ever had to buy durable medical equipment or have any adaptations done to your home to create easier access for a family member with a disabling condition, you know that insurance doesn't pay for everything, and it's very, very expensive to buy what you need to make your daily life easier. Any one of us could experience an accident or a health condition at any time that could deplete our resources. I hope everyone who reads this will chip in a few dollars toward this accessible van for Jennifer and her family.

The beauty of the internet is that crowdfunding campaigns have the potential to reach thousands or even millions of people--but the challenge is getting the word to spread. Let's all spread the word and make this campaign go viral!
