JC has been a voice over professional since 2011. His voice over experience has included a range of projects, from explainer videos to ebook narration (small to large) as well as phone scripts, sales videos, elearning, and so much more.
1. How did you first get into doing voice over work?
I started doing voice over in 2011 as I was looking to make extra money. Many people throughout the years have come up to me and told me I had a great radio voice, so I decided, after hearing about Fiverr, to give it a try.
From 2011 to 2015 I dabbled in voice over projects off and on without putting any serious effort into it, and I always received great reviews.
In January 2016, a friend and I were having a conversation, and in so many words or less, my friend told me I should get serious about voice over work as I could build a great reputation for myself. So, I got busy and started working hard at growing my online presence in voice over.
2. What inspired you to choose Fiverr as a platform for offering your voice over services?
The reason I choose Fiverr is I have heard so much about the platform from many other marketers and how it was a great place to buy services for various online tasks. After checking it out, I realized I could be a seller and start voice over projects, and voila here I am. :)
3. In addition to recording voice tracks for videos (which I'm assuming is your most requested service, but please correct me if I'm wrong!), what are some of the types of recordings that you've been hired to do?
So far I have been involved in video voice over projects but this has only been more lately. In the past six months to date, I have been involved in advertising projects, motivational projects (lots of them), spiritual projects, sales page voice overs, and ecourses in teaching people how to learn internet marketing, use online services and use software programs. I have also done phone scripts and acting projects (even though I am not officially a voice actor). I even did a project for the city of Chicago which was amazing, and I have turned eBooks into audio books for various clients (small and large projects).
4. In your opinion, what are some qualities that give a recording a professional feel?
In my opinion, caring about the project is number one. Even if you don't care for the actual content, you need to care about the end result the client is looking for. Learning breathing techniques, and having an excellent quality microphone and setup is also very important to the success of the project.
It's crucial to maintain a professional attitude throughout the project regardless if it is a $5 gig or a $5000 gig; I treat them all with the same quality and always give 150% so every project is a success.
5. How do you approach each individual project to make sure you're capturing what the customer wants in the recording?
I could get the same project from different clients and each client would want a different ending result. That is an example to make a point, as getting the same project from different people doesn't happen, of course. But there are similar projects that people look for, and as I said, they all have different ending results they are looking for, so my commitment on every project is to keep open communication and keep my clients informed throughout the process and ask questions to confirm what they are looking for at certain points in projects (when necessary).
When I am not 100% sure about a voice over project, I will send a part of the project to the client for review so they can give me feedback on whether I am on the right track as I should leave nothing to chance.
The one main thing I offer is unlimited revisions even after the gig is completed and closed. Also, I offer revisions regardless if it is my error or changes they want to make after listening to the project. My clients have been very happy with this added benefit, and just the same I rarely have too many revisions and 99% of the ones I do are due to changes the client makes.
Juan Sebastián Rojas Pérez is a musician. He is a guitarist and composer who lives in Colombia and shares his music worldwide by offering music composition as well as guitar lessons over the internet.

2. What inspired you to start writing your own musical compositions?
I think a lot about history. I love to take stories and give them more than words. With music, I can make a unique instance or expression and reflect how people might see something in a different way.

1. How did you first hear about Fiverr?
To be honest, I don't remember exactly. I guess I read an article somewhere, but I was a fan after the first minute. I ordered a video of a dancing girl as a birthday present to a good friend. We watched the video over and over at his party, so it was a great success.
2. What gave you the idea for your naked dancing gig?
I think naked men look funny, especially fully naked ones. And I think it's funny to see people dance like a fool. So why not combine both? And I really enjoy bringing fun to people.
3. Are you planning to add some new gigs for the future?
At the moment, I don't have the perfect idea for another gig. But if there is something I can do for you that I haven't thought of, just let me know. I can't imagine anything I wouldn't do (if it's funny).
4. Have you told anyone you know about your gig, and if so, what was their reaction?
Yes, I told my best friend, and she was shocked and asked, "Will you really bare it all?". "Sure, I will," I answered. I think it's the right of the custumer to have a good look, if they want to. I think she can't imagine that I am OK with being exposed like this if someone chooses to post the video on YouTube. But that's how Fiverr.com works. The customer can choose.
5. What is your favorite part about participating in the Fiverr community?
It's not about the money; it's about the spirit. Right now I am sending examples for free if someone is interested. And I will take a second video for free if the customer likes the first one.

1. What inspired you to set up a seller's account on Fiverr?
As a teacher, I am lucky I get to do something I love every day: help positively mold the lives of our youth. However, that does not come with the highest salary, so I am always looking for ways to help make some extra cash to pay student loans and save for retirement.
I came across Fiverr while reading an article on how to make extra income. The article described the site and what it took to get started. I decided to look into it, and I saw it was a legitimate option to earn extra cash for my skills.
In my professional work as a teacher, I have been able to use my writing to help advance my field. I have written articles that have been published in state and national publications and websites relevant to health and physical education. In addition, I have written curriculum, and I have presented at local and state conferences on my subject matter. I have always loved writing, and I was ecstatic to be doing education-related writing projects.
There came a point where I not only wanted to monetize my writing, but also use it to help others achieve their goals in advancing their passions along the way. I saw Fiverr as a way to do this.
2. How do you decide what gigs to offer, and what do you feel makes your work unique?
I decide what gigs to offer based on my strengths and things I have found success in. As I mentioned already, I love to write! I am good at it, too. So I decided that my first few gigs would be my writing gigs. I started with a poetry gig, and then added two SEO content gigs. One is for SEO website content. And one is for SEO article content. But I really will write most content or articles. These gigs are entry points, and I find people usually see you're good at a skill, and they will ask for you to use it to do other projects besides the one specific to the gig.
Another gig I have is for teaching people how to make money and earn rewards through online surveys. This is because I have been doing online surveys for a little over a year with booming success. I have earned $2400 in Amazon gift cards and about $800 in cash, and been able to test and keep many products such as cereal, blenders, shoes, and so much more. I know there are people out there who could use some extra cash and gift cards. I have seen it from helping friends start with online surveys to find their own success. That led me to turn it into a Fiverr gig. I just know there is a single parent out there or another teacher like me who could benefit from this service.
What makes my work unique is that every gig is based on a skill where I have found success. I am not trying to mislead anyone. I am an honest, hardworking person, who is taking his successes and using them to try to help others find similar success. You could say in a sea of people looking for a quick buck, I am genuine about my intentions, and my experience and work I produce shows as much.
3. Would you tell us a bit about your day job and how you balance it with your freelance work?
I am a physical education teacher at an elementary school. I have been doing this for 12 years, and I have routines and rituals that help keep me organized and productive at my day job. This allows me to leave my work at work. I also work a second job part-time to help pay down my student loans. So, I am busy to start with. I am able to maintain a balance through routines.
I dedicated a certain day and amount of time to each endeavor. I have set days I work my second job. I schedule in my Fiverr work along with any personal occasions. I use the weekends to catch up, and if I cannot take a gig, I will negotiate what I can handle or be honest and not take it.
In addition to scheduling, taking time for me helps with the balance. I make sure to set aside days and times to exercise and socialize. These times help me keep grounded and productive in other areas of my life.
4. How did you first become interested in writing poetry, and what makes for an interesting poem, in your opinion?
I have been writing poetry since I was 14. It started as an outlet for some teenage angst, and grew from there. I used to keep notebooks of poetry, and I would share it with my dad who always gave me positive feedback on it. So, it was more for personal reasons then anything else.
I put it away for a while as I grew. But I turned back to it time to time, especially during tough times. I have always had a natural ability to sit down and express myself in poetry in a way I cannot verbally. Over the years, I started to use my poetry for local community organizations, to give to colleagues as end of the year gifts, or to publish along with the nonfiction writing I did for the publications related to my profession.
I decided that it was worth sharing that gift with others through Fiverr. If I could write a poem for someone who wanted to communicate something special to someone special, it would be worth it.
5. As someone who has participated in the Fiverr community as both a buyer and a seller, what keeps you coming back to Fiverr--and what would you say to people who haven't yet given it a try?
I keep coming back to Fiverr because it works. It is something that is easy to get started on with little up-front investment time-wise or financially. The tools they provide help you grow and manage your gigs. You will find people on the site with exceptional talents you would not otherwise find. It is a one-of-a-kind place.
As a buyer, I can get a second set of eyes on written work for my profession. For example, I had written a book proposal that I wanted to send to publishers, and I found a Fiverr seller to help edit it. So far that has paid off, as the book is garnering some interest with a major Physical Education and Health publication. As a buyer, Fiverr give you access to people that can help further your goals in life.
As a seller, I stick with it because it is paying off. I have seen steady growth in my gig purchases since I started two months ago. I honestly wrote Fiverr off after a month of no gig purchases. Then one order came, then another, then another, and now I am a level one seller all of a sudden. It is extremely gratifying to not only get paid for something you love to do, but to get such positive feedback on your work is a thrill. To know people like what I do and that it is helping them is an amazing feeling.
The big reason I stick with Fiverr is because I feel a part of a worldwide community of like-minded people. I have worked with and communicated with people from all over the world. From London to Louisiana, I have met some very kind and endearing people doing wonderful things. I have learned new things about new places, and I have learned more about life on Fiverr because of the kindness of the community.
I would tell newcomers to reach out for help and stick with it. When I started, I had someone who was sort of mentoring me on how to be successful on Fiverr. He really helped me so much. And now he has given me work as I have given him work. Other Fiverr sellers have helped me with advice, too. Being patient was the biggest piece of advice I got. So, to someone new to this, I would say, reach out to experienced sellers for help, follow the advice that they and Fiverr give you because it works, and be patient as it takes time to see results.
Lastly, I would caution that you have to know that you are starting a small business when you start on Fiverr. Keep that in mind as you build your gigs over time. You will have to consider marketing and social networking.

1. What is the VideoConcepts business model, in regard to your video editing services?

5. If you could change one thing or add a new feature to Fiverr, what would it be?
As most know, the stars rating system gives both buyer and seller the opportunity to rate, and publicly displays both parties' overall experience. I personally appreciate any honest feedback, positive or negative, but I've also been fortunate enough to have built a 17-year positive reputation in general, both locally and online. Someone whose reputation is not as established may become a victim of either malicious reviews left by a competitor, a buyer new to Fiverr who innocently fiddles with the stars and unknowingly submits their rating, or the ever so common scenario in which the buyer did not take the time to properly read the gig description, resulting in an unsatisfactory experience due to confusion on their end. I've seen this happen to Level 1 Sellers and Top Rated Super Sellers alike. It's disheartening to watch a fellow seller delete a thriving gig as the only means of removing unwarranted blemishes. I'm aware there are measures in place to deter these types of ratings, but they still slip through. I'd like to see that hole plugged up somehow. I assume Fiverr is refining the rating system at this very moment.

1. How did you first become interested in working as a designer?
I have always been interested in art. As a kid, I drew all the time. In the beginning, drawing people was most interesting to me. During my first year of college, I took a drawing class, and my teacher mentioned that she thought I'd be good at graphic design. Before that, I hadn't heard the term. The more I learned, the more interested I became. As an artist, my work gives me fulfillment. The work of other people moves me, and I hope to produce design that does that connects with others in the same way. Success, for me, has come as a result of loving what I do.
When we dream alone, it is only a dream, but when many dream together, it is the beginning of a new reality. Fiverr is a good place for freelance graphic designers: you can take control of your time, and there is an excellent customer service system, which I love.

For $5 my clients will get the basic logo I designed in png or jpg format. I'm delivering only high quality logos. I'm not thinking about the price. This is a great opportunity for me to help people. If you do good work for good clients, it will lead to other good work for other good clients. If you do bad work for bad clients, it will lead to other bad work for other bad clients. Just carrying a ruler with you in your pocket should be forbidden, at least on a moral basis. The ruler is the symbol of the new illiteracy. The ruler is the symptom of the new disease, disintegration of our civilization.
4. In creating a logo, what do you consider in shaping your design?
I want to make beautiful things, even if nobody cares, as opposed to ugly things. That's my intent. I strive for two things in design: simplicity and clarity. Great design is born of those two things. A designer knows he has achieved perfection not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.
5. How do you see your freelance business growing over the next year or so?
It's through mistakes that you actually can grow. You have to get bad in order to get good. I'm trying in another freelance site, and I always have success such that my freelance job is growing hour by hour. I never fall in love with an idea. If the one you're with isn't doing the job, there's always, always, always another. I can only say that I'm growing now, for every minute I find that for myself, without exception, the more I deal with the work as something that is my own, as something that is personal, the more successful it is.
